Just a little tip for those of you driving in Australia, those big black and white stripes that go across the road are pedestrian crossings (also known and zebra crossing) not, I repeat not go faster stripes…..
Now then a pedestrian crossing is in fact a safe place for pedestrians to cross the street, well in theory at least. Little hint for you, the idea is if you happen to be driving towards one and a person is stood there waiting you STOP and allow them to cross, you do not speed up as you approach them. Oh and another handy tip for you, if a pedestrian happens to already be on the crossing as you approach it then it really is a good idea to stop. Hard to believe I know, but no you are not meant to drive into them.
